  • Biola University is pleased to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Cook School of Intercultural Studies
  • Dannah came to Biola's Cook School of Intercultural Studies to gain a better understanding of how to integrate cross-cultural ministry with her love for academics.
  • Asher immigrated with his family from India to the U.S. in 2003. His heart for people and other cultures led him to Biola's Cook School of Intercultural Studies.
  • Mark met his first non-English speaking friends in second grade, and immediately fell in love with language. After teaching English in South America, Mark decided to return to the U.S. and now teaches English to students from all over the world.
  • From her very first missions trip to Mexico, Susan knew that she wanted to learn more about other cultures and languages. Today she is able to apply what she learned at SICS to a new mission field: her own community.
  • Ivan works as a Director of International Student Services and has focused primarily on inner city missions across the U.S. including Milwaukee, Queens NY, Chicago and Houston.
  • Sharon's experience teaching English in Africa was challenging. Today, she is equipping herself at SICS and excited to return to the mission field.
  • Heather has travelled the world. Her experiences in Egypt, China and Vietnam fueled her passion to learn more about other cultures and her decision to come to SICS and teach English as a second language today.

Biola Alumna Gives Both Medical and Spiritual Care to Patients on the Mission Field

Sharon Soper, aluma from Biola's nursing program, M.A. Intercultural Studies and D.Missiology from Biola's Cook School of Intercultural Studies, is a nurse practitioner and author of Soybeans and the Kingdom of God: An Approach to Wholistic Mission.

Entrance Portico Receives a Facelift

Over the summer, Marshburn Hall — home of the Cook School of Intercultural Studies — received a facelift, with renovations to existing facilities and an expansion of space through the enclosure of the entrance portico.

New edition of Great Commission Research Journal

The latest edition of the Great Commission Research Journal, Winter 2011, is now available. The Great Commission Research Journal is an academic journal devoted to research and scholarly thinking on church growth.
