Message from the Dean

Thank you for your interest in Cook School of Intercultural Studies at Biola University.  Biola is a community abiding in truth, abounding with grace, and compelled by Christ’s love. Cook is an academic community of learners under Jesus Christ seeking to equip men and women for missions locally and globally. If you are looking for a school with competent faculty and vast experience that will challenge you intellectually, spiritually and give you individual attention to equip you for God’s calling upon your life, then Cook is the place for you.

Highly Experienced Faculty

Cook faculty is comprised of academics and professionals. They come to their roles as professors with a love for Jesus Christ, commitment to the Word of God, vast academic and missionary experience. They all have cross-cultural experience and are active scholars engaged in research and publishing in their various fields. The professors are currently actively involved in various mission activities. They often travel with students on missions. At Cook you will get to interact with these professors and be mentored by them. At Cook, you will not only engage in rigorous academics but you will also engage in action and reflection on your activities so you will be competent and relevant to the changing face of missions.

Diverse Student Body

Our students come from different continents. Many students are serving in mission at home and abroad. Such a very diverse student body affords rich and lively dialogue, deep friendships and partnerships in and out of class.

Flexible and Creative Programs

Cook offers a variety of programs designed to fit the busy and diverse lifestyles of students. The programs are offered full time, part time, online, during Summer on campus and at our extension sites in the US, Asia and Europe. Undergraduate students are required to engage in cross-cultural experience before they graduate.

Explore the website and find a program that suits you in the undergraduate, masters and doctorates in diverse fields. Cook also works with career missionaries seeking to “re-tool” in order to be even more competent.

Our graduates are serving the Lord in the mission field at home and abroad. They are serving in churches, in Non-Governmental Organizations and government agencies. Join us for a lifetime adventure in fulfilling God’s calling in your life.

God’s rich blessings on you.
